Doctor of Physical Therapy Tuition Assistance

At the University of Mary, our Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students have several pathways available to them that are designed to lessen the financial impact of their doctoral studies. Opportunities occur through tuition assistance opportunities, scholarships, partnerships, and other funding mechanisms.


WICHE: Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education

Through the University of Mary’s partnership with WICHE, eligible students can participate in the Professional Student Exchange Program (PSEP). PSEP provides substantial tuition support for eligible students up to several thousand dollars.

  • Guam
  • Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands
  • Hawaii
  • Wyoming
  • Nevada

Deadline To Apply: October 15 of year prior to when tuition assistance is needed.


JRMC: Jamestown Regional Medical Center

The University of Mary’s DPT program has partnered with Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) to offer scholarship support that covers the full cost of tuition for the student’s entire duration of the DPT program.

Eligible to Apply:

  • All incoming students of Mary’s DPT program

JRMC provide sponsorships with the stipulation that recipients commit to employment at JRMC for a minimum of three years post-graduation. JRMC will determine the number of available sponsorships based upon workforce needs and projections on an annual basis.


Lone Peak Physical Therapy

 is an outpatient physical therapy clinic with locations throughout Montana and Minot, North Dakota. Lone Peak offers one University of Mary scholarship of $33,270 in forgivable student loans to support physical therapy students with educational and living expenses and requires a three-year employment commitment post-graduation. Several University of Mary DPT graduates have advanced to leadership roles within Lone Peak, showcasing its commitment to professional growth.

Beyond the one large scholarship, Lone Peak PT also offers additional student loan agreements valued at up to $15,000 for any University of Mary student who commits to employment with them after graduation. .

Blue Cross Blue Shield ND

Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota has created a $2,500 scholarship for eligible applicants. Several University of Mary DPT students receive this scholarship each year, and students can apply in each year of the DPT program.

To be eligible for this scholarship, University of Mary DPT students must:

  • Be a resident of ND
  • Have a GPA of 3.25 or higher

Deadline to Apply: October 1 of each year


Sanford Allied Health Scholarship

DPT students are eligible to apply for a $1,000 Allied Health scholarship from Sanford Health. This scholarship is available to students in a wide range of Allied Health careers. Recipients are not required to commit to current or future work obligations with Sanford Health.

Carlie Malm Scholarship

The Carlie Malm Scholarship is awarded to students traveling with the DPT program's annual service trip to Guatemala. More information on the service learning trip can be found here.
